Largest Container Ship

The Emma Maersk is a true marine engineering marvel. The world largest container ship, longest ship currently in service and is propelled by the largest diesel engine ever manufactured. She is bigger than any aircraft carrier and manages to carry 15000 containers with only a crew of 13! She was designed for High Sea travels only and unable to negotiate the Suez or Panama canals. Her Command Bridge is located at 10-floors building height. She has a top speed of 55.8 km/h and will take her about 4 days to reach Asia from US. Below are the photos of the biggest man-made vehicle on the sea.

Maybe 2009/2010 Is The Year Of The Linux Desktop

With Linux on the desktop becoming more of a house hold choice due to low end netbooks and Linux’s ability to out preform Windows XP/7 on most of these devices.  Microsoft now feels the need to conduct training session with Best Buy employees spreading FUD and MS propaganda to sway potential netbook/notebook buyers away from Linux.  Ars Technica has gotten a hold of the slides and material that MS has shown to Best Buy employees and as any user that has been around Linux for more then two weeks can see most of their claims are just out right ridiculous. Many walk buttons at pedestrian crossings in New York City were once functional, but now serve as placebo buttons.[2] Many door close buttons in elevators are placebo buttons.[1][3] Office thermostats may also function similarly.[4]

Worlds Largest Fire Extenguisher

superExtingusher

Supertanker, a 747-100 modified by Evergreen Aviation of Oregon, can deliver more than 20,000 gallons of fire retardant with considerable accuracy using its unique pressurized delivery system. Although Supertanker can’t snake through canyons like smaller aircraft, nothing can touch its payload or its ability to perform multiple controlled drops during a single flight. The Grumman S-2, a dedicated workhorse of California’s airtanker fleet, carries 1,200 gallons. That’s a thimbleful compared to the Supertanker.
